QUOTES OF THE WEEK

“By what right do progressives think they can decide who's got too much money? Where do they get off thinking they can remedially confiscate it? Is that in the Constitution? I didn't think so.”
Journal Sentinel columnist Patrick McIlheran

“Doyle is more hemmed in politically than at any point in his long public career.

Consider:

St. Norbert College's spring poll 34%, the scored his job approval rating at only measuring it lowest since the poll began shortly after Doyle took office in 2003. That's a 25 percentage-point fall - or about 1 point per month - in two years.

can't even be Doyle succeed him, in the same picture with his handpicked choice to Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, because Republicans would use the photo to reinforce their message that a Gov. Barrett would be a Doyle third term.

When he turns on TV, Doyle sees Republican Governors Association ads that tie him to Barrett and end by saying Barrett would be ‘like Doyle - only worse.’ Even lifelong, passionate Democrats grudgingly concede that the RGA ads are effective, savaging Barrett for any voter paying attention this summer. This summer, nobody has Jim Doyle's back.”
Wispolitics.com columnist Steve Walters

"I hear these people saying he's like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested. I mean, it's crazy. They will be satisfied when we have Canadian healthcare and we've eliminated the Pentagon. That's not reality."
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs ripping liberal critics of President Obama.

Japan DESERVED everything it got in WW2 and then some.

Japan raped, looted, and murdered its way across the Pacific. There was the Bataan Death March. The rape of Nanking. Japan engaged in human experimentation, engaged in multiple massacres, & deliberately starved millions of people to death. And all that is aside from the fact that country helped start WW2 and attacked America at Pearl Harbor.

Quite frankly, the United States would have been justified, multiple times over, in wiping Japan off the face of the earth for the evil that nation did during WW2. Yet, we didn't do that. Instead, Truman carefully considered the facts before he chose to nuke Japan.”

Blogger John Hawkins

“Contemporary liberalism means building a mosque rather than a memorial at Ground Zero—and telling your fellow citizens to shut up about it.”
Columnist William Kristol

“The biggest political change in my lifetime is that Americans no longer assume that their children will have it better than they did. This is a huge break with the past, with assumptions and traditions that shaped us.”

Columnist Peggy Noonan

“I don’t know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican.”
Harry Reid
