QUOTES OF THE WEEK

“If I hear one more Republican tell me about balancing the budget, I am going to strangle them.”
VP Joe Biden

“Of the 39 black Democrats in the House, all but two represent districts where blacks are a majority or plurality. One other black Democratic contender is running in a white majority district. So in this election, Republicans are running more blacks in white majority districts than the Democrats are. Shouldn't that be taken into consideration when accusations of racism are being hurled about?”
Jack Kelly

“In just four days, more black children die at the hands of the abortion clinic then the KKK killed in its entire history.”
Jerome Hudson, a 24-year-old student of history, majoring in broadcast journalism, in Tallahassee, Fla. He blogs at http://jeromehudsonspeaks.weebly.com/

You’re the dullest audience I’ve ever spoken to.”
Vice President Joe Biden speaking to a subdued Madison audience at a fundraiser for Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

He can't afford for Wisconsin to know that he is out of the mainstream on this important issue.”
Tom Barrett accusing GOP opponent Scott Walker of misleading voters by confusing embryonic stem cell research with work on adult stem cells.

We've known Tom a long time, which is why I'm even more disappointed that he continues to lie to you about my husband. Tom Barrett is using the Jim Doyle playbook by exploiting the plight of those afflicted with diabetes and other diseases in TV ads, falsely telling you that Scott is ‘against hope’ and that he would ‘ban stem cell research.’ Well, I am also a type 1 diabetic, and I CAN PROMISE YOU, my husband is full of hope! “
Scott Walker's wife, Tonette, telling supporters in an e-mail that Walker won't ban stem cell research and supports “adult stem cell research -- research which science has shown to have the most promise to cure my disease and which does not destroy innocent human life. ''

“If I could wave a magic wand, I would take the entire Obama agenda and reverse it.”
GOP Senate candidate Ron Johnson

I have lost the confidence of the people I represent due primarily to personal issues which have now affected my professional career.”
Calumet County DA Ken Kratz in a statement announcing his resignation.
