This Just In ...

Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely baby daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

The Klement's Bratwurst inspects Milwaukee's Biggest Bloody!

Food Drive Success!

Two weeks ago with the help of Jimmy Luv's Bloody Mary Mix, Klement's Sausage and 102.9 The Hog we held a fundraiser for the Hunger Task Force. We built Milwaukee's Biggest Bloody- 100 gallons of fun!

Thanks to you our customers we collected 2500lbs of food and $4,782.01 -Way to go! We couldn't have done it without you.

Distillery Tours- Now with Sunday Hours!

Great Lakes Distillery is open for tours and tastings! Come try our products and learn how we make them. During the Holidays, our Tasting room is open 7 days a week from noon to 6PM. Tours are at 2 & 4PM daily with an additional tour at 6PM Fridays.

We will be closed November 25th for Thanksgiving.

The holiday season has begun. Maybe you've never heard of it, but our favorite holiday is coming up in a week and a half- Repeal Day! We're having a Repeal Eve Party and hope you can join us. We also have a wonderful pre-prohibition cocktail and want to share with you a fundraising success story.

Repeal Day Celebration 2010! GET TICKETS NOW!

Repeal Day is the celebration of the end of Prohibition- that dark stain on our nations history that came to a screeching halt in December 1933.

This year we'll be celebrating Repeal Eve on Saturday December 4th. We've put together a great celebration at the distillery this year. We'll have a prohibition era cocktail menu, light appetizers, distilling demonstrations by our Master Distiller Doug MacKenzie and a sampling of the Repeal Day Rye made at last years party -served in a complimentary souvenir Whiskey glass! Order Tickets here!

At last years event we filled our Repeal Day Rye barrels. This year you get to sample some!

When: Sat Dec 4th

Time: 8:00pm-?
Cost: $10 per person (limited number of tickets sold)

Where: Great Lakes Distillery... 616 W Virginia St in Milwaukee.
Details: Prohibition Era Cocktails, light Appetizers, Rye sampling served in a take home Whiskey Glass.

The Orange Blossom

In keeping with our Repeal Day theme, todays drink is a pre-prohibition classic. If you're coming to our Repeal Day party it will be one of several classic cocktails on the special menu that night.

Orange Blossom
1-1/2 oz Rehorst Premium Milwaukee Gin
2oz fresh Orange Juice
1/2 Orange liqueur - (such as Cointreau)
Dash of Bittercube orange bitters
-shake, strain over ice. garnish with orange
