It's Friday night. Time to unwind with our regular Friday night feature on This Just In.
The weekend has finally arrived.
The sun has set.
The evening sky has erupted.
Let's put controversy and provocative blogs aside for the rest of this shortened work week and smooth our way into Saturday and Sunday.
Tonight, sounds of the season.
Hope your Thanksgiving was nice. And we now have less than 30 days until the biggest holiday of the year. Since it's beginning to look like Christmas, what are we waiting for!
Call me corny but I like this medley by the entire Osmond Family.
Confession time. I like Barry Manilow. Seriously. If you listen to his finely-arranged tribute albums to the big bands and Frank Sinatra, I believe you'd be not only pleasantly surprised but impressed.
My mother liked Barry Manilow, too. I told her and my wife, Jennifer (bigger Manilow fans than me) that the singer is more appealing to me if I don't have to see him in action. Mom and Jennifer would just roll their eyes.
This next selection features Manilow from his Christmas album released in 2009, and just try not to tap your feet. I double dog dare you.
We will return to our regularly scheduled Friday Night Goodnight feature,
It's time for a musical comedy break.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Straight No Chaser!
OK, back to the serious material.
This is a real golden oldie you don't hear enough from the Chairman of the Board.
Harry Connick Jr. also does a nice version on his Christmas album.
That's it for this week.
More holiday music next week.
Have a great weekend.
We close with one of those home-made family videos that’s well done. It features the lovely voice of Amy Grant and a message that I hope rings true for all.
