Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely baby daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

Local woman tells Wash. Post: "Liberal media has no shame, no common decency or moral compass"

Harold Meyerson writes an op-ed piece in the Washington Post ripping the rhetoric of the right, using quotes made by radio /TV talk show host Glenn Beck and RedState blog editor Erick Erickson. Then Meyerson generalizes:

“The primary problem with the political discourse of the right in today's America isn't that it incites violence per se. It's that it implants and reinforces paranoid fears about the government and conservatism's domestic adversaries.

Much of the culture and thinking of the American right - the mainstream as well as the fringe - has descended into paranoid suppositions about the government, the Democrats and the president. This is not to say that the left wing doesn't have a paranoid fringe, too. But by every available measure, it's the right where conspiracy theories have exploded.

As much of the right sees it, the government is planning to incarcerate its enemies, socialize the economy and take away everyone's guns.”

Donna Cole of Oak Creek, Wisconsin wasn’t buying it. She submitted a letter to the Washington Post and copied several local radio talk show hosts including me. Here’s Cole’s response in its entirety:

Mr. Meyerson, your WashPost column titled,”Dangerous outcomes from a culture of paranoia" would be ridiculous if it was not related to such a tragic event. The hypocrisy of you and other liberals in the media is unbelievable.

Where were you sir when George W. Bush was the president? Where was your anger at so called hate speech against him?

Where were you sir when President Bush was burned or hung by a noose in effigy? When a movie was made about assassinating him? Where was your self righteousness and fraudulent outrage when an endless parade of liberals on T.V. and radio wished President Bush would die some sort of horrible death, Vice President Cheney would have a heart attack and die, the endless character assassination of Karl Rove, etc. and on and on with hate filled rhetoric?

Where was your outrage then?

You want to talk about paranoid? Where was your anger with the radical left, who still to this day, say the 9/11 attack was done by President Bush, all the various conspiracy theories of why we invaded Iraq, Halliburton, big oil this or big pharma that, and a million more left wing fantasies about all sorts of lies, where was your outrage? None of this was proven true or even to have any merit what so ever. Yet it was and still is constantly thrown in the face of the public by the liberal media.

Where were you when Sarah Palin was savaged in the media only because she was a conservative female, when one liberal said she wished Palin had been aborted and another said she wished when Palin came to NYC that she be gang raped by a bunch of black men?(Which is also a racist statement)

Where were you when liberals made jokes, giggled and laughed at Sarah's handicapped baby? You were there laughing along with your group think liberal crowd. That was OK in the liberal media playbook.

Where were you when Ed Shultz and Randi Rhodes, among others, ranted and raved on the radio like lunatics, spewing endless hours of anti Bush hate speech, that then switched to Sarah Palin hate speech?

I will tell you where you were sir. You were right in the middle of it, you were part of it.

When did you, or anyone in the liberal media, call on the radical environmentalist left to answer for the cowardly bombing murders committed by Ted Kaczynski?

Where was your outrage when Bill Ayers was given a free pass for the bombings and other crimes he committed, crimes he refuses to apologize for or to renounce his tactics? He is the most likely suspect in a still unsolved bombing of a San Francisco police station that killed a police officer and wounded many others, yet he is embraced by the liberal elite as a great man, a visionary in public education. Have you ever read any of his books? This man is a total mental nut job who should not be allowed anywhere near children. A man who should be rotting away in a federal prison.

When those on the right ask about the associations between President Obama and Mr. Ayers, we are attacked by the left, we are told, you can't hold President Obama guilty by association.

Where was your outrage when the liberal media said Reverend Wright and his inflammatory rhetoric was just the silly rantings of an old man?

The liberal media told us that Rev. Wright was just using his right to free speech and President Obama, who sat in Rev. Wright's church for 20 years, couldn’t be held responsible for the rantings of an angry old man.

Where were you and your broad brush when Major Hasan went on a killing spree at Fort Hood?

The liberal media told us, you right wingers can't paint the whole Muslim community as hate filled radicals; Major Hasan is just a lone crazy man. You told us we could not say that Islam is a religion full of hate.

Yet now, you decide that it is just fine to paint the whole political right with that very brush you refused to use after the 13 murders at Fort Hood, the same brush you refused to use after nearly 3000 people were murdered on 9/11.

When a so called artist puts a crucifix in a jar of urine, we are told by the left it is art and we must accept it, but when a person photoshops a picture of President Obama with a bone through his nose, we are told it is racist hate speech.

What did you feel in your heart when leftist protesters burned American flags in protest to the Iraq war? Anger or joy? Do you think burning an American flag might, possibly could incite someone to violence?

Sir, you are a hypocrite.

The only "hate speech" in the liberal world is any speech that liberals don't agree with. When liberals engage in this type of speech it's simply people exercising their first amendment rights but when a conservative does it, then it's hate speech.

You either fundamentally don't understand the first amendment or you’re just a plain phony and your supposed outrage is phony too. I lean toward the latter.

The first amendment is there to protect speech that others may find offensive. You don't get to pick and choose whose speech is offensive or not or what speech is hate or not.

Even after all of the liberal media has been proven totally wrong as to the political motivations of the man who committed this horrible act, the shootings in Tucson, I have seen no corrections, no retractions, no apologies (I won't hold my breath for any either), just more angry left wing rhetoric.

The only thing this crime has proven is that the liberal media has no shame, no common decency or any sort of moral compass at all.

Sir, you and most other liberals in the media don't care at all about this tragic shooting or the victims; in fact, you are dancing on the graves of the dead, using this tragic crime as a political tool to advance your left wing agenda.

If you want to understand why a majority of Americans reject liberalism, you need only to look in the mirror.

You sir are disgusting.
