Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely young daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel called the recent demonstrations at the state Capitol, “peaceful.”
And they wonder why their circulation numbers are south of the Equator.
Blinded by their bias, the MSM refused to tell what was really going on during those protests for weeks.
Where, I ask, where is the outrage from the left, the Democrat officials, the liberal bloggers, etc. Why haven’t they publically condemned the death threats, property damage, harassment, and thuggery?
Finally, one has stepped forward. But it took more disgusting threats for her to do so.
File this one under better late than never.
Republican state Senator Dan Kapanke of
The Wisconsin State Journal reports, “A Kapanke aide told the La Crosse Tribune that Kapanke's car window was smashed in Madison, and nails were scattered on the driveway of his family's home.”
Kapanke was also included in death threats sent to all Republican state Senators.
Enter state Representative Jennifer Shilling (D-La Crosse). Shilling and Kapanke differ greatly on political views. But after Kapanke was threatened over and over, Shilling spoke out:
“I am deeply troubled to hear that Sen. Kapanke and his family have been the target of threatening statements and have had damage done to their personal property. I have said from the beginning of this session that those involved in political discourse have a responsibility to engage in meaningful debate and do so in a way that does not tear down our country or each other. I am once again calling for all citizens to make their voices heard and participate in this debate peacefully.”
The Wisconsin State Journal has editorialized, “Such intimidation is outrageous and must stop.” That’s more than I can say for the Journal Sentinel.
Representative Shilling, good for you.
As for the rest of you liberal Democrats, where the hell are you?
