Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. The minute I compliment Franklin Mayor Tom Taylor, what does he do?
I’m told that at an awards ceremony tonight (Tuesday), Franklin Mayor Tom Taylor specifically singled out Franklin Aldermen Steve Taylor and Ken Skowronski for being supporters of the police department.
Really?
Is my friend, and he is, our mayor, asleep at meetings?
As I have blogged, the mayor has vetoed the budget approved by the Franklin Common Council recently. The mayor in his veto message wrote:
“I have concluded that the motion or series of motions made by the City of
No kidding. He was right on there. The Common Council, led by Finance Committee Chairman Steve Taylor, voted to chop the Police Department by $100,000 and the Fire Department by $100,000. Support for public safety?
And just a few days after the mayor issued his veto message about public safety, what does he do? He praises Steve Taylor, the very alderman (who by the way is strangely silent on local matters because it’s been announced he’s running for County Supervisor), who wants to chop public safety.
I therefore retract my previous BRAVO for Mayor Taylor and instead voice a SHAME ON YOU! You can't write one thing and say another. Please take one strong position and stick with it.
