There aren't enough abortions

That’s the radical view of the left-wing extremists at the Daily Kos who’ve been called out by the Culture and Media Institute.

Another article cited has the the author suggesting what having a pregnant woman view her fetus before receiving an abortion is like.

These outrageous views do little to build support for the abortion on demand crowd.

"We'd be better off if less people voted"

Last month’s spring elections brought out…….hardly anybody. Editorial writers around the state were wincing and cringing at the low voter turnout. Proving how irrelevant many of those opinionated folks are, Wisconsinites ignored their preaching from the same hymnal about how they had to go out and vote, it was their duty, it was their obligation......and stayed home.

Yours truly is on record, and it’s well-documented that low voter turnout is not the end of the world. It can actually be for the best. Think about it. You probably know a whole busload of knuckle-dragging individuals that should never be entrusted with pulling any levers. They’re just plain too stupid.

The fewer voters, the more powerful each individual vote. The more passionate, astute, politically savvy voters, the better.

My unorthodox thinking to some earned me what I consider is a coveted Jerk of the Week Award from the sense of humor-less commies at that bastion of outstanding journalism, the Shepherd Express. I mean, let’s face it, if that bunch starts loving me, I say just shoot me right then and there.

Lo and behold I am proud that conservative columnist John Hawkins, one of my favorites feels the same way.

In all honesty, we'd be better off if less people voted. If the only people voting were well informed, highly motivated people who paid income taxes, I guarantee you we'd have a much better government and a much better country,” Hawkins writes.

BINGO.

UPDATE: Culinary no-no #164

This week’s Culinary no-no
dealt with a decision by Santa Clara County supervisors in California to ban Happy Meals.

Today, conservative columnist Mike Gallagher writes about his live on-air debate on this very issue with a supporter of the Make Kids Unhappy proposal who, in typical liberal fashion could not debate using facts, resorted to calling Gallagher an “ass.”

Gallagher writes, “
As the parent of four grown boys, I asked her if she was a parent, too. She sarcastically told me that she was quite capable of reproducing (this was not a very pleasant lady), and that yes, she did have two children. At that point, I suggested that she might consider doing what my wife and I always did when our kids wanted something, and perhaps ponder the reaction of millions and millions of parents since the beginning of time -- say no. That prompted a most interesting reply on her part: ‘Oh, don’t be an ass, Mike’.”

It’s the scene of the most famous gunfight in history.

Witness the dramatic events that made Tombstone famous: the silver boom, the great fire, the O.K. Corral® gunfight, the assassination of Morgan Earp, and more. Actor Vincent Price narrates this exciting multimedia history of Tombstone from Geronimo's Apaches to modern times.”

Immortalized in film.

Notice To All Climate Change Advocates, All Members of the "Go Green" Army

Working its way around the Internet....good stuff:

Notice To All Climate Change Advocates, All Members of the "Go Green" Army

All of you out there in America and across the globe who have fought so hard to tackle the hideous enemy of our planet, namely carbon emissions, you know ....that bogus god you worship of "Climate Change" or "global warming" ....well, I feel it is necessary to inform you of some bad news. It really does pain me to have to bring you this disappointing information.

Are you sitting down?

Okay, here's the bombshell. The current volcanic eruption going on in Iceland, since its first spewing of volcanic ash this past week, has, to this point, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet.

I know, I know.... (group hug)...it's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of: driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up til midnight to finish your kid's "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, going on vacation to a city park instead of Yosemite, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your $1 light bulbs with $10 light bulbs ...well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just the past four days.

The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere in the past four days has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon.

I'm so sorry. And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volanic ash cloud but the fact of the matter is that the brush fire season across the western U.S.A. will start in about two months and those fires will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two years.

But hey, grab a Coke, give the world a hug and have a nice day!

Dave Obey: Pompous and arrogant to the bitter end

During his, “I quit before I get booted out in November” speech today, Wisconsin’s no-class Congressman Dave Obey proceeded to blast Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Republicans in general.

Gracious he was not.

Democrats are acting like His Royal Majesty has expired.

National Public Radio, during its “All Things Considered” broadcast today rattled off at least a half dozen sound bites of the cranky Obey, maybe more with nary a Republican retort. Can’t do that. Why, that might remotely approach…….

Balance.

Objectivity.

Obey was right about one thing today: his time to go has come. Forty plus years of this tax and spend liberal is a big reason our country is in the mess it is today.

"Obama’s Boys Call in Riot Cops on Tea Party Protestors (Chavez Would Be Proud)"

Conservative columnist extraordinaire Doug Giles strikes again. Here’s an excerpt from his latest column about the recent use of SWAT-like teams. It is vintage Giles:

“Riot police were sent out to two different locales on two completely different types of crowds.

The first mob that riot cops were called out for was the one in
Phoenix comprised of thousands of out-of-control illegal Mexicans who were POed at the fact that Arizona
finally wants to treat them like they’re illegal. Imagine that.

Yep, I get why the SWAT dudes from PPD rolled out for that melee. The mass of protesting Mexicans were out of whack, grabbing their crotches in defiance of our laws, smearing refried bean swastikas on government windows, flipping American patriots off, trashing and destroying property, and cursing in TexMex at the Arizonans who want our immigration laws upheld and who are sick of the costly mayhem these illegals have brought to their beautiful state.

Let’s see, what else did the criminal aliens do to solicit the Phoenix PD’s riot police presence? Man, I know there was something else they did. What was it?”

Of course, you know you want to

Franklin
is passionate about youth baseball and needs to get this done.

Let me get this straight. Under the gun, Franklin aldermen met on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and quickly approved spending $500,000 on an Interchange with little, if any data that it will reap economic benefits, but when confronted with building youth baseball fields on empty land that will cost nothing and benefit the entire community, some aldermen are saying, well gee, I don't know if this is the right thing to do or if this is the right location.

Alderman Tim (I couldn’t wait to vote Yes to spend that $500,000 the city doesn't have on an Oak Creek interchange) Solomon: Some friendly, respectful advice. If you want the ball fields as bad as you claim you do, then work hard to find another location if you have problems with the spot where the potential buyers want to go. It's that simple. Just make sure your ideas jive with the buyer's, or we risk losing the whole deal.

Capiche?

The latest update from Franklin Alderman Kristin Wilhelm

Dear Residents,

"Is this how Franklin taxpayers are treated?!" Sadly, yes

The following e-mail was sent Tuesday from Christopher and Beth Mantoan of Franklin to all Franklin School Board members, Franklin Mayor Tom Taylor and Franklin Alderman Steve Olson:

Dear Franklin School Board members, Mayor Taylor and Alderman Olson-

When I returned from work today, we had this wonderful surprise in our front lawn.

We are hoping that included in the highly-discussed budget that was passed, allowing the almost- $1 million fiber optic project to move forward, was money to reimburse our family for a new front lawn (professionally seeded and re-graded, not a 20-minute patch job) and for the first application of our lawn care service that also occurred today. We realize this may (and I'm being generous) be Franklin's property, but Franklin did not install, nor pay for, our professional landscaping job 7 years ago, nor does Franklin water or mow our lawn, or take care of the general upkeep of our yard.

We would have appreciated some notice, as we could have at least prevented the lawn care service from coming out today. We would appreciate this monstrosity removed from our front lawn immediately and a written letter stating all reimbursements as requested above will be made from the Franklin budget.

We are appalled after paying over $8000 in taxes this past year this would be allowed to happen.

Please contact us to discuss prompt resolution of this matter.

Sincerely,

Christopher and Beth Mantoan

Alderman Olson replied:

I'm sorry for the trouble that you and others are experiencing with this project.

Be aware that this project is being paid for and run by the Franklin Public Schools without notice to the homeowners affected.

I'll be happy to help in any way but at this point suggest that you address your immediate concerns to your school board members and the district administration.

The City of Franklin was not involved in the planning or execution of this project.

Thanks.

There's more.

O
lson got a phone call Wednesday night from a very angry former Franklin alderman, accusing the city of cutting power to the house. Workers had cut a cable through a hole that's marked for power. This is happening at many Franklin properties as part of the school district's wasteful, whopping $800,000 fiber optic project that was approved in their latest tax-increase budget.

Lawns are being ripped up and destroyed and power is being cut off and to make matters worse, no Franklin taxpaying homeowners were notified that workers with heavy equipment would be descending upon their properties.

$800,000 and not a single penny to send out a letter, e-mail, or telephone call warning of the impending destruction.

This is not a city endeavor. This is a SCHOOL DISTRICT matter. Once again, this school district that I have been extremely critical of in the past has created a huge mess.

To complain, call the school board members. (Note the quote from Board Member Janet Evans:
"In order for success to be realized, open communication between citizens, the Board, and the administration is essential").  Also call Superintendent Steve Patz. Given their record of complete lack of concern for taxpayers, I can't wait to hear their cockamamie excuse for this major blunder.
