Support Governor Walker at Convention this weekend

Thank you!  The voter turnout for Governor Scott Walker last Tuesday was truly remarkable thanks in large part to your hard work. Can you imagine how defeated Democrats must feel after Governor Walker nearly out-polled all four Democrat candidates combined? Simply amazing.

But we cannot take our eyes off the ball for one second.

We must use this weekend's convention to send Governor Walker off to victory on June 5. Above and beyond anything else - the challenge at-hand of returning Scott Walker to the governor's office should be the focus of this weekend's state convention.

So, while some folks are trying to make this convention about them by spinning phony poll numbers or "astro-turfing" the state convention as one candidate explained it - we must all remain focused on Scott Walker's campaign.

It's a fight we must win. The liberal activists who have forced this absurd recall are hoping to undo the positive changes like a balanced budget, job creation incentives and shared public employee benefit costs made by Governor Walker and Republicans.

Wisconsin knows better.  Together, we'll reelect Governor Walker and then get to work on Washington DC.  We will send Harry Reid to a seat in the back of the chamber when Republicans take control of the U.S. Senate with a victory right here in Wisconsin.

I am running for US Senate because our country is heading in the wrong direction, and my Restore America Plan is needed to get our country back on track.  We need someone who can win in Wisconsin and I've done that five times.

My conservative reforms became models for the nation and governors all across the country. I'm the best prepared to reform our entitlement programs, repeal and replace Obamacare, balance the budget and create new jobs.

Reform is never easy, but it is always worth fighting for. My Qualified Economic Offer - QEO as it was then called - was a precursor to the reforms implemented by Governor Walker...taking runaway public employee compensation head-on by installing limits on both salary and benefit increases.

My friend, there are challenges ahead but we can work together to make sure we are victorious at every turn.  We've done it before and together we can do it again.

Yet when we gather together this coming weekend for the Republican Party of Wisconsin's State Convention, I'm asking you to do two things: please remain focused on helping our friend Governor Walker; and, please stop by my hospitality suite on Friday night to discuss with me how we can work together to bring America back.

See you this weekend,
Tommy Thompson

P.S.-I know I don't need to remind you to vote on June 5th, but I encourage you to reach out to your family, friends and neighbors to make sure we keep Wisconsin moving in the right direction with Governor Scott Walker.
