TEA PARTY TURNS BACK UNION BOSSES, SAVES SCOTT WALKER’S REFORM AGENDA
Wisconsin Tea Party Members, Taxpayers Defeat Big Labor’s Political Payback Move
Waukesha, WI – American Majority Action released the following statement in response to Governor Scott Walker’s win in the Wisconsin recall election:
“Gov. Scott Walker’s win is a crippling blow to the public sector unions’ hopes of continuing to strangle taxpayers with unsustainable spending at the expense of the private sector. Wisconsin’s taxpayers, spurred by Tea Party activists across the state engaged in the political process to support Walker’s reforms at historic levels. The Tea Party in particular has proven it remains a powerful political force that turned out voters at an unprecedented level.
American Majority Action is proud to have worked with Tea Party groups and concerned citizens from across the state to mobilize fiscal conservatives to wrestle their future away from the union bosses that had thrust the state into fiscal chaos.
Last February, American Majority and Tea Party leaders organized the “I Stand with Walker” rally to show the nation that Wisconsinites weren’t afraid to stand for fiscal responsibility and take on the entrenched interests that have fueled irresponsible spending to benefit a few at the expense of our families and businesses.
Throughout this fight, American Majority trained Tea Party members and citizen activists to step up and fight against Big Labor bosses from across the country who were trying to hijack Wisconsin’s government. Tonight, those hostile forces were turned back.
By targeting key wards for door-knocking and phone call activity and utilizing the latest state of the art canvassing technology, Gravity, American Majority Action was able to reach voters more efficiently.
This partnership has not only shown Wisconsin that reform is possible, but the action and commitment of these taxpayers can inspire similar change across America.”
