Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely baby daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

CLARE MEADOWS 15TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION – This celebration will take place on June 18th and Mayor Taylor will be presenting a proclamation at the Council meeting on June 19th.
SEEKING QUARRY MONITORING COMMITTEE MEMBER & APPOINTMENTS – An ordinance adopted at the previous council meeting served to reinstate the Quarry Monitoring Committee and set the standards for committee appointments and member duties. Mayor Taylor will appoint 3 of the 5 members. Council confirmation for 3 of the 5 members will take place Tuesday evening. The 3rd & 5th District aldermanic representatives will then each appoint one member. I am seeking interested candidates for this position. JUNE 20 – ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION (7 PM) – The Meijer development is of interest to many residents. The project is on the agenda for a Natural Resource Special Exception as it relates to their proposed store at Hwy 100 & Loomis. (Also see public hearings.)

51ST STREET CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE – In brief, the construction contracts are expected to be awarded by July 3rd, with the concrete walk and path to be constructed during July & August. The roadway is anticipated to be paved in mid‐August. A complete timeline is available by request.

CITY EXPLORING CONSOLIDATING FIRE SERVICES – Discussion on the consolidation of Fire Services could come before the Council on September 1st and/or September 10th.
EXPANDED LANDFILL HOURS – Waste Management has announced that effective June 4, the new landfill hours will be 8am ‐ 4pm Monday thru Friday and 7am ‐ 3pm on Saturday. Accepted materials (2 yard maximum) include household waste, yard waste (grass, leaves and brush), construction debris, recyclables, and tires. Materials NOT accepted include appliances (including microwaves), electronics, and household hazardous waste (gas, antifreeze, oil, and paint). For

1ST MONDAYS ST. MARTIN’S FAIR (6am – 2pm) – The Fair takes place on St. Martin’s Road from W. Forest Home Ave. to W. Church St. the 1st Monday of every month between May ‐ September.
JUNE 24 SUMMER CONCERTS IN THE PARK (1:30pm) – A perennial favorite in the Franklin 4th of July parade, Vern & The Originals will be serving up a tasty helping of polkas and waltzes at the Lions Legend Park Band Shell.

– The Franklin Historical Society will hold a fundraising kick‐off to support disassembling and rebuilding a donated historic barn. Viewing historic buildings, as well as activities, cookies and lemonade will be part of this historic experience.
