Crystal Ridge Drive. No other information is included in the Council packet.

SEEKING QUARRY MONITORING COMMITTEE MEMBER & APPOINTMENTS – An ordinance adopted at the previous council meeting served to reinstate the Quarry Monitoring Committee and set the standards for committee appointments and member duties. Mayor Taylor will appoint 3 of the 5 members. Council confirmation for 3 of the 5 members will take place Tuesday evening. The 3rd & 5th District aldermanic representatives will then each appoint one member. I am seeking interested candidates for this position. Please contact me by phone or email and provide your preferred method of contact so I can get back with you.

UPDATES & NOTICES

51ST STREET CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE – In brief, the construction contracts are expected to be awarded by July 3rd, with the concrete walk and path to be constructed during July & August. The roadway is anticipated to be paved in midAugust. A complete timeline is available by request.

NOTICE OF FOUND PROPERTY – PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on or about June 5, 2012, money was found in the vicinity of a public building located in the City of Franklin, Wisconsin. Please contact the Franklin Police Department at (414)4252522 or the Franklin Director of Clerk Services, Sandi Wesolowski at (414)4257500 to claim.

GORDON FOOD SERVICE (27th Street & Riverwood Blvd near Gander Mountain) – I’ve received several requests for clarification about the building going up on 27th Street where the Golden Corral was originally proposed. Due to economic or other conditions, there was a change in plans and it will now be a Gordon Food Service Marketplace. It is my understanding this will be Gordon Food’s second Milwaukee area location. If you wish to get a glimpse of the store and try their products, you can visit their West Milwaukee store, north of Lincoln Avenue on Miller Park Way (43rd

Street) or visit them online at www.GFS.com.

MITCHELL AIRPORT RUNWAY CONSTRUCTION – The County has closed the north
south runway for pavement replacement. This closure means air traffic is currently being rerouted causing constituents to notice additional aircraft noise. Construction is expected to be completed in October with air traffic patterns returning to normal operation.

CITY EXPLORING CONSOLIDATING FIRE SERVICES – Discussion on the consolidation of Fire Services could come before the Council on September 1st and/or September 10th.

EXPANDED LANDFILL HOURS – Waste Management has announced that effective June 4, the new landfill hours will be 8am 4pm Monday thru Friday and 7am 3pm on Saturday. Accepted materials (2 yard maximum) include household waste, yard waste (grass, leaves and brush), construction debris, recyclables, and tires. Materials NOT accepted include appliances (including microwaves), electronics, and household hazardous waste (gas, antifreeze, oil, and paint). For

questions contact the Metro Recycling and Disposal Facility at (414)5296180.
