Sue Black, Franklin, and Crystal Ridge

EARTH TO REPORTERS AT FRANKLINNOW.COM: PLEASE STOP EATING THE DUST OF OTHER NEWS GATHERERS AND AT LEAST MAKE THE MINIMUM EFFORT TO COVER THIS STORY.

Lowly Channel 58 first raised the possible Sue Black-Crystal Ridge-Franklin connection.

Today, WTMJ Radio interviewed Franklin alderman and Milwaukee County supervisor Steve Taylor about this situation. Crystal Ridge is on Milwaukee County land, leased to Midwest Development Corporation. Recently, the Milwaukee County Board, including Taylor, voted to have a Franklin developer come in and restore Crystal Ridge that amounts to a worthless landfill with ball diamonds and soccer fields, etc., that would rake in tax revenues and provide greater usage. Makes complete sense. Taylor is absolutely correct about that.

Problem: The old developer says there’s a buy-back clause that would warrant them millions of dollars if the Milwaukee County opted for another developer.

Given Milwaukee County’s putrid record in the past, it wouldn’t surprise if Milwaukee County Board members, including Taylor, had no idea of all the details and potential ramifications when they voted. Can you say, “Pension scandal?”

Listen to Steve Taylor’s interview this afternoon on WTMJ here.

Friendly tip to Steve Taylor: When interviewed and asked a direct question, give a direct answer. And you're lucky I wasn't asking the questions instead of lightweight Eric Bilstad.
