Tammy Baldwin's Healthcare Law Robs $9 Billion From Seniors In Wisconsin
ObamaCare Cuts Deep, $716 Billion Nationwide From Medicare

Madison, WI - A newly released study from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management delivered some bad news to Wisconsin seniors. Because of Madison liberal Tammy Baldwin and the disastrous healthcare law she rammed through Congress, seniors in Wisconsin will see $9.4 billion cut from their Medicare. You can see the study here.

"The harsh reality of Madison liberal Tammy Baldwin's healthcare law is setting in," said spokeswoman Lisa Boothe. "In Wisconsin alone, her healthcare law will cut $9.6 billion from the seniors who depend on Medicare. Not only was she a reliable vote for President Obama, but she has openly advocated for a complete and total takeover of healthcare. Her partisan vote wasn't just costly for the families who have seen their premiums go up, but Wisconsin seniors have been hit hard by the disastrous law. Governor Thompson has been a strong voice on the need to repeal the law.  If elected, he will fight to restore those funds, and will work to preserve Medicare for current seniors and protect it for future generations."

As a reminder, President Obama's campaign recently bragged that the healthcare law cut $716 billion from Medicare, which includes $200 billion from Medicare Advantage and $150 billion from hospitals, nursing homes and hospices.

100 Days Out, Wisconsin Middle-Class Families Brace Themselves for Baldwin's "Taxmageddon"

With Madison Liberal Baldwin's Help, Hard-Working Families Will Be Hit With Largest Tax Increases in History

Madison, WI - Tomorrow marks 100 days until hard-working middle-class families will be hit with Madison liberal Tammy Baldwin's "taxmageddon."   Despite her claims that she is fighting for the middle-class, her actions are in direct contradiction of her empty rhetoric.  If Congress doesn't act by January 1, 2013, Wisconsin middle-class families will face three waves of tax increases.

"Madison liberal Tammy Baldwin likes to claim she is working for middle-class families, but because of her actions hard-working families in Wisconsin and across the country are facing the largest tax increases in history," said spokeswoman Lisa Boothe. "With 23 million Americans either unemployed or underemployed, Baldwin's taxmageddon could prove devastating to families who are barely making ends meet. As Wisconsin families brace for the impending tax increases, they should take a closer look at the Madison liberal's failed economic record.  Not only is she an ineffective leader, but her tax-and-spend policies have led this nation deeply in debt and have done nothing to create much needed jobs.  At the end of the day, Baldwin is just too extreme for Wisconsin's middle-class families."

BACKGROUND

  • President Obama Said That Failure To Pass A Tax Cut Compromise Would Cause Taxes To Go Up By $3,000 For A Typical Family. President Obama: "Make no mistake: Allowing taxes to go up on all Americans would have raised taxes by $3,000 for a typical American family. And that could cost our economy well over a million jobs." ("President Obama: Tax Cut Compromise Is Right Thing To Do," www.thehill.com, 12/7/10)
    • Baldwin Voted Against President Obama's Tax Cut Compromise. "Levin, D-Mich., motion to concur in the Senate amendment to the House amendment to the Senate amendment to the bill that would extend the 2001- and 2003-enacted tax cuts for all taxpayers for two years and revive the lapsed estate tax, setting the tax rate at 35 percent on estates worth more than $5 million for 2011 and 2012. It also would extend unemployment insurance benefits for 13 months and cut the employee portion of the Social Security tax by 2 percentage points." (H.R. 4853, CQ Vote #647: Motion agreed to, thus clearing the bill for the president, 277-148: R 138-36; D 139-112, 12/17/10, Baldwin Voted Nay)
