The Job Creators Solutions "Truth Tour" came to a close this week after visiting well over 30 communities in 13 states in the past two months. As we met with thousands of community leaders, business leaders, and student leaders on campuses across the country, we heard a unified message: America cannot take more of the economic and regulatory policies that have put a stranglehold on business growth and job creation.

A reporter with the Atlanta Journal Constitution covered some of the final days of the Tour, including a College Truth Tour stop at Penn State University where JCS co-founder, Herman Cain, addressed both the students and members of the local community. The article demonstrates the broad reach of the Tour by highlighting a Penn State junior who considers herself a “liberal” but is frustrated with the current President and unsure what to do on Election Day:

“Cain did not tell her to vote for Romney. Instead, he laid out the challenges facing the nation and his solutions: blow up the tax code, spend less, be more aggressive in foreign policy. He told the audience to stay active and informed but avoid the “mainstream, lamestream, lapdog media.””

“When we send our money to OPEC, we don’t get a lot of love in return.”

That was the message from an energy industry expert who attended the Job Creators Solutions Energy Summit in Pittsburgh. The Energy Summit was part of our Truth Tour events and highlighted the need for energy independence and security. An American energy revolution promises to transform our economy and our foreign policy for the better, so long as government stays out of the way. A video update from the event tells just some of what is possible.

Helping to promote American energy independence is a key focus for us, so keep an eye out for more Job Creators Solutions work on American-made energy in the months to come.

As Job Creators Solutions wound up the Truth Tour in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday, President Obama announced his plan to create a “Secretary of Business.” The Fox News Channel turned to JCS co-founder Cain for an interview about whether this late-game proposal was really a good one for the nation’s job creators.

The "Truth Tour" was only the beginning of what Job Creators Solutions plans to accomplish as we work to educate the American people about critical issues. By providing resources for employers and others, focusing on issues in the news, and truly empowering those who are the backbone of our economy - our job creators - we will help to bring about the change we all hope to see for our country.
