What did Scott Walker do this week? (08/02/14)

What did Scott Walker do this week?

A very big week.

Governor Walker reacted to major rulings by the WI Supreme Court upholding Act 10 and Voter ID:

Act 10 has saved Wisconsin taxpayers more than $3 billion.  Today’s ruling is a victory for those hard-working taxpayers.

Voter ID is a common sense reform that protects the integrity of our elections.  People need to have confidence in our electoral process and to know their vote has been properly counted.  We look forward to the same result from the federal court of appeals.

He spoke about those decisions during a visit with Fox 6 on the first day of the WI State Fair.

Governor Walker was on hand Friday in DeForest for another major expansion announcement.

Prior to the DeForest announcement, Governor Walker was in Milwaukee.

“Just as the Global Water Center has put Milwaukee and Wisconsin on the map when it comes to water technology, we believe the Energy Innovation Center has the same potential for the energy, power, and control sector,” said Governor Walker.  “Southeastern Wisconsin already is home to some world-leading companies and research universities in the sector.  This is an opportunity to harness all of that innovation all in one place.”

There was a tour of Briggs & Stratton in Wauwatosa. They’re bringing 370 jobs back to WI.

The Governor visited with Wisconsin companies at the EAA's AirVenture in Oshkosh.

And while at the State Fair, the Governor joined kids from Boys & Girls Club & St. Anthony School at the Share a Coke area to personalize cans.

That’s it for this week. Thanks again, Governor Walker, for all you do to move WI forward.

Have a great WI week, and head out to the Fair!!!
