Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely young daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

UPDATE: Schools and kids and computers

The update: The Franklin and Whitnall school districts are implementing 1:1 Initiatives this school year ensuring each kid gets a laptop or iPad.

FranklinNOW reports, “Parents will be held financially responsible should the Chromebooks be damaged. The district provides a cost list for possible repairs to the devices.”

I’m thinking this is one of those ideas that at first blush sounds good, but I suspect there will be problems.
This would be a good follow-up story later in the school year for NOW reporters.
