Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely baby daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

It's Friday night. Time to unwind with our regular Friday night feature on This Just In.
The weekend has finally arrived.
The sun has set.
The evening sky has erupted.
Let's put controversy and provocative blogs aside for the rest of this work week and smooth our way into Saturday and Sunday.

Barry White is known for his intimate, some would say naughty lyrics. He's also famous for taking a massive orchestra and making it sound popular and cool.
It's only natural that a performer noted for his instrumental work would add his touch to familiar movie themes. White did it in 1979 when his Love Unlimited Orchestra released the album, "Super Movie Themes: Just a LIttle Bit Different" on 20th Century Records, an obscure recording no longer available.
If you've never heard some of the album tracks, I think you're in for a treat. There's no mistaking White's lush sound, and his take, while more contemporary than the original soundtracks, is more than respectful. At the risk of being too simplistic, White's versions are quite nice.
We begin with what is probably the most popular movie theme ever recorded in terms of record sales and position on the pop charts. The original by Percy Faith stayed at #1 for 9 straight weeks and was the top selling single in all of 1960.
