Greendale robbery report results in arrest of victim and alleged perpetrator

Feb. 06, 2013 9:22 a.m. | Greendale - A 21-year-old Franklin man who walked into the Greendale Police Department to report he was the victim of a robbery is himself facing a charge of strong-armed robbery, among other charges.

The other party, a 26-year-old Greendale man, also is facing multiple charges, including robbery and drug-related allegations tied to the incident, which was reported at 1:55 a.m. Jan. 21.

According to the police report resulting from the subsequent investigation:

The Franklin man told police he picked up an unidentified man who flagged him down near Layton Avenue and Loomis Road and asked him for a ride home. When they got to the man's house in the 5300 block of Root River Drive, the passenger attacked him, punching him in the face, kneeing him and gouging at his eyes, the Franklin man claimed in a written statement. The man told police the subject then stole his cellphone and $80 before running into his residence.

When officers paid a visit to the Greendale man's resident to investigate, he told police that the alleged robbery victim had contacted him in order to buy 18 pills of Percocet for $120 and subsequently had driven drove to the Greendale man's residence, where the transaction was to take place.

Germantown, Oak Creek retain top spots in Roundball Rankings

Feb. 04, 2013 10:46 a.m. | The Germantown boys basketball team (18-0) kept a hammerlock on the top spot in the MyCommunityNOW/Lake Country Roundball Rankings with a 94-44 victory at Milwaukee Lutheran on Friday.

The Warhawks, who have not lost since falling to Appleton East in the 2011 postseason, scored 36 points in the first quarter on the way to a 61-27 halftime advantage. They have won 46 consecutive games.

The Oak Creek (16-1) girls dispatched Racine Case, 55-40, and are considered a legitimate Division 1 title contender.
