1A caller reported witnessing someone steal a woman's purse outside the east doors to Sears at Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th St., at 4:35 p.m. Dec. 23. The person fled the scene in a Honda Accord, and police were still investigating at the time of the report.


2Thirteen adults and five juveniles were arrested for shoplifting at Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th St., between Dec. 20 and Dec. 26.

3Police arrested a man for theft, prowling and physically resisting an officer after a caller reported seeing a man walking down the street in the 7300 block of Elstead Avenue trying to open car doors and looking inside the cars about 4 p.m. Dec. 22. An officer stunned the man with a stun gun after he refused to comply with police commands and he was taken into custody.

4A man was arrested for shoplifting, receiving stolen property, use of a theft detection tool and possession of a Schedule II narcotic after he was seen shoplifting at Kohl's Department Store, 5300 S. 76th St., at 4:20 p.m. Dec. 24. He also was arrested on two warrants for two traffic violations through the Franklin Police Department.


5A woman was arrested for possession of marijuana after she was taken into custody for shoplifting at Kohl's Department Store at Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th St., at 4 p.m. Dec. 21.


6Two men were arrested for disorderly conduct and one of the men was cited for resisting/obstructing an officer after they were escorted out of Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th St., by security after they got into a physical altercation at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 21.

· Police arrested a man for elder abuse after a case worker from the Department of Aging requested a welfare check on an elderly female who was apparently living in an unfinished basement and urinating into plastic cups about 4:50 p.m. Dec. 23. The man, who is the victim's son, would not answer telephone calls and refused to let case workers into the residence. He was arrested and ordered into the district attorney's office for negligent abuse of an individual at risk.

· Greendale police assisted with two rescue calls between Dec. 20 and Dec. 26.
