Greendale Police Report: June 19, 2014

June 17, 2014

Theft

· Several items of jewelry were reported stolen from a locked safe at a residence in the 7500 block of Highview Drive at 5:25 p.m. June 9. The theft took place sometime in the last few months.

· Nine adults and one juveniles were arrested for shoplifting at Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th St., between June 6 and June 12.

Drug possession

· A man was arrested for possession of marijuana after he was taken into custody for shoplifting at Kohl's, 5300 S. 76th St., at about 3:35 p.m. June 7.

A man was arrested for possession of marijuana during a warrant arrest in the 5600 block of Azalea Court at about 5:15 p.m. June 9.

Drunken driving

· A woman was arrested for drunken driving and an adult female passenger was cited for underage drinking at Eastway and Sussex Lane at about 5:40 p.m. June 6. The suspect's preliminary blood alcohol content was unavailable.

· A caller reported an intoxicated male resident in the 5800 block of Sugarbush Lane got into his vehicle carrying a glass of vodka and soda at about 3:20 p.m. June 7. A police sergeant located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the lot at Bluemel's in the city of Greenfield and arrested the driver for drunken driving and having open intoxicants in a vehicle. A chemical breath test indicated a BAC of 0.15.

Other

· A resident reported her 14-year-old grandson received counterfeit money for an iPad mini he sold on West Ramsey Avenue and Highland Lane at about 10:50 a.m. June 6.

· One juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct after he got into a physical altercation at Greendale High School, 6801 Southway, at about 1 p.m. June 6.

· A pet owner was cited for animal cruelty after leaving a dog inside a locked vehicle for an hour and a half in the parking lot at Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th Street, at about 2 p.m. June 6.
